What's New!

Wenge

Wenge is an exotic species sourced from Africa, featuring a straight grain and a coarse texture. The heartwood is dark brown to black with fine, closely spaced, very dark veins and white lines. The striking combination of white bands against dark wood endows Wenge with an attractive appearance. Mainly specified for architectural woodwork, paneling and high-end furniture, Wenge has grown more popular with the recent trend toward the use of darker colors to accent an overall design.

Maple Burl

Maple Burl is a decorative figure of domestically sourced maple wood. The supply of Maple Burl is traditionally more limited than plain maple lumber, which may be found throughout North America. The heartwood is uniformly pale reddish brown to light tan in color, with a fine and even texture, while the grain is curly or wavy, reflecting the decorative burl figure. Highly distinctive Maple Burl figure remains a prized element of architectural and furniture design.

Jacaranda has awarded its first-ever prize for Design Excellence to renowned interior designer Howard Snoweiss of the Howard Snoweiss Design Group in Coral Gables, Fla.

RealTec was installed in lobbies, elevators and other public areas, while its impressive flexibility also allowed it to be used to cover curved walls within the building. The Jacaranda Award for Design Excellence will be presented annually to an architect or interior designer who has shown outstanding creativity in the use of Jacaranda wood veneers.
