Veneer Slicing Methods

The appearance of Jacaranda veneer products are largely determined by the slicing method and figure matching used during the manufacturing process. Jacaranda products are available in the following slicing methods and matching:

Flat Cut (Plain Slicing)

A variegated figure typified by straight grain mixed with swirls and cathedrals.
SEE EXAMPLE: CHERRY, FC

Quarter Cut

A consistently straight grain with parallel ribbon-like figure.
SEE EXAMPLE: RIBBON SAPELE, QC

Rift Cut

A straight grain effect similar to true quarter cut veneer, most commonly used when slicing varieties of Oaks.
SEE EXAMPLE: WHITE OAK, RIFT

Rotary Cut / Half-Round Cut

A bold, sometimes wild, variegated figure.
SEE EXAMPLE: TAMO ASH, ROTARY

Please Note: Wood color and figure characteristics may vary among trees of the same species. Sequenced sheets from the same flitch will match - different flitches may not match each other.
